How to Apply for a Test

Applications must be made no later than 10 working days before the test date. It is recommended that you apply as early as possible.

APPLICATIONS MUST BE MADE IN PERSON at Level 1, 11 York Street Sydney NSW 2000.

What do you need to bring?

  1. Completed IELTS Application Form and GST Form
  2. Two identical passport sized photographs (not more than 6 months old). Refer to photo guidelines.
  3. Your current passport
  4. The IELTS Test fee is $330 (GST free) or $363.00 (GST inclusive).

How to pay?

Payment can be made by EFTPOS or Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard and AMEX), Bank Cheque or Money Order payable to Navitas English Services. Personal cheques are not accepted.

As of the 1st December 2011 we will no longer accept cash as a payment method for IELTS applications, refunds, transfer, remarks or materials.

When to Apply?

Monday - Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.

Please note that on busy days a ticket system will be in place and the last ticket will be issued at 4.45 pm.

Saturday 9.00 am to 12 noon (Test Days Only).

Cancellation and Postponement

Notice of cancellation or postponement must be received no later than five weeks before your test date. An administration fee applies to cancellations or test date changes. Details will be provided at the time of application.

There is no refund for candidates requesting postponement or cancellation within five weeks of the test date. Candidates seeking exemption due to illness or serious cause should complete the Request for Refund and Test Date Transfer Form and send to the IELTS Administrator with supporting documentation.


Note: Candidates who book a test within the five week period will not be eligible for a refund (transfers may be granted subject to availability). This includes cases where test places are released within five weeks of the test date.

Candidates who did not sit the test due to illness or serious cause should complete the Request for Refund and Test Date Transfer Form and submit with supporting documentation to the IELTS Administrator in person no later than five days after the test date.
